The Most Common Questions We Hear from ProSuite™ Users

To keep you moving through your day without missing a beat, here are some of the most common ProSuite™ questions our Customer Service Centre receives and their answers:

  1. How do I make a copy of a file matter and change the transaction type?

It’s not uncommon to need to start a new file matter but carry over information from a file already started. This can be done very easily by making a copy of the file and changing the transaction type. Learn how here.

  1. How do I input multiple persons buying a property with separate interests?

The easiest way to answer this is with an example. Let’s say six persons are buying (three couples) and each couple will have an undivided 1/3 interest as joint tenants. Simply input the 1/3 interest and mark ‘Joint Tenants’ for the second, fourth and sixth buyer while not specifying any interest for the first, third and fifth buyers.

  1. How much are ProTrust cheques and how do I order them?

As your law office grows, you’ll inevitably run out of ProTrust cheques and need to order more. You can find out how to order cheques and the associated cost here.

  1. How do I complete a rental adjustment?

On the Adjustments>Buyer’s Other Adjustments tab, create a Prorated Adjustment Type leaving the Payee blank. This adjustment should be applied to Both Buyer and Seller and a Credit to Buyer. Complete the Start Date for the rental period and the On Date for the Adjustment Date. Finally, complete the Ending Date with the end of the monthly rental and select Is this a Rental. Done!
